Latschar has been plotting since the 1990's to remove the Electric Map from Gettysburg!
“My personal reflection, when I first saw it in the 1990s, was that it was boring - I thought it took far longer than what it should have to tell the story that it was trying to tell, and it was telling that story in a fairly antiquated means,” said Dr. Latschar. “But there’s also another aspect to my opinion: I’m red-green-brown color blind…so I have a hard time distinguishing the lights. It’s something that people weren’t thinking about in the 1930s.”

It's Official: The movie is a flop. Long live the Electric Map.Read how this movie flop is going to cost you next time you visit the Museum at Gettysburg. During the first four months of operation of the new facility, the percentage of visitors choosing to view the film, statistics show, ranged from 18-24 percent. "One of the main concerns we heard was that people were paying eight dollars to see a 22 minute film, when they could go to the mall and pay $8 to see a two-hour movie," Latschar said regarding the park's film about the Battle of Gettysburg Can anyone say Duh? |
